Rating Rides

Epcot - Disney World
This park is full of tons of attractions and things to do that will keep you busy all day. If you read my previous entry, you could probably see how lengthy it was. 'Cause there's a lot of stuff to talk about at Magic Kingdom. You will probably also notice that the font is a little too small (haha, oops) so I'm making sure I fix that right now, lol. So, anyway, lets get into it. Epcot is an awesome opportunity to visit lots of "countries" in one night! Where else can you go from Japan to Canada and then to Germany in about 45 minutes? No where. That's why Epcot gives you some many cool things to do that you will never want to leave, unless going to Magic Kingdom. If I had to rate this park on a scale from one to ten, it would probably score a seven. I might have made it sound a little overrated above. But, getting back to the point, let's look at what makes this park as awesome as it is.

Oh, and by the way, it annoys me that some many people think that is a golf ball. I'm sorry, but how does that make sense? No. It is not a golf ball. It is called "Spaceship Earth." Yeah, I don't really get it either. Well, anyway, let me get to some of the rides. There aren't nearly as many as Magic Kingdom, but that doesn't mean they're any less entertaining. Let me start with a ride located in Norway: Maelstrom.

Most people haven't even heard of this ride because it's kind of tucked away. But, it's pretty cool. I don't think I have even rode this ride. But, I promise you, it's cool. Wow, that was a lame description! Anyway, let's move onto a more popular ride. A ride that makes your cheeks flare back against your faces. Yes, you guessed it, it's Mission: SPACE.

Oh, and by the way, that's not what really happens on this ride. It's just a simulation, I promise. Even though, it is extremely realistic. Well, that is Disney for ya. So this ride crams you into a pod, "a rocket," and blasts you into space and onto... Mars? I should check on that, but yeah, you're blasted into space in this very crammed space. I highly recommend not going on this if you're claustrophobic. Back to the point, this ride is truly awesome. In addition, what's really cool is that they have a mild Mission: SPACE so that if you think you cannot take all the G-force from this thrilling ride, you can go on an exact replica with a limited amount of that cherished force that drives your cheeks back and almost make you vomit (heehee). But yeah, this is a really cool ride that I haven't really seen anything like it anywhere else. Okay, now let's move on to a ride that really flies you high. This is a ride that everyone favors and really makes you feel like you are soaring. That's right, it's Soarin'.

This ride truly takes your breath away. Starting above the clouds, you fly over tons of internationally known bridges, over oceans, mountains, and even Disney World at the end! Dangle your feet and put up your arms as you soar through America and all that it's beauty has to offer. Then inhale through your nostrils to discover the sweet aroma of oranges as you fly right above an orange field! Experience waves below your feet as you almost reach the water right below you! This ride is just so unbelievable - words can't begin to describe how great it is and the feeling you get when you're on it. This ride definitely describes Disney - going above and beyond to give your visitors an experience that will last a lifetime. Alright, now let's go to a ride recently tampered with to look futuristic and even better than it's original realm. Test Track.

Doesn't look familiar? That's because Disney Imagineers just recently adjusted this ride to look futuristic and even better than it used to be. Lets compare:

From This
To This

Yeah, big difference, right? Well, I think, personally, it was better before. With Disney, you have all these futuristic things that look awesome and all, but it's good to have a little diversity here and there. I think Test Track doesn't even fit the name of the new one. What are you testing? In the old one it actually looks like a car that would be tested with things that represent roads and signs that you would see on a highway. I believe it is cooler now, but I think it was just better before. Just me though. Well, those are the rides I wanted to fully explain and show. Now, let me move on to some more minor attractions.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros - Take in the sights of Mexico and antics of the 3 feathered amigos on this gentle boat ride through the Mexico Pavilion.

Journey Into Imagination With Figment - Figment the playful, purple dragon is your guide on this whimsical tour of the Imagination Institute.

Living with the Land - Sail through the greenhouses of The Land Pavilion and behold 9-pound lemons, Mickey-shaped pumpkins, and more!

Sea Base - Descend beneath the waves to explore the magic and mystery of life under the sea!

The Seas with Nemo & Friends - Frolic with a colorful cast of undersea characters in this attraction based on Disney-Pixar's Finding Nemo.

Spaceship Earth - Enter the iconic geosphere and explore the history of communications, from the Stone Age to the computer age. K, now let's get into the shows and most important: things to see. That is what most of Epcot is about especially with all those countries all over. Also, some interactive stuff.

Advanced Training Lab - An astronaut's work is never done! Further your training and even create a space-age postcard in this interactive play area.

The American Adventure - A 30-minute stage show chronicling our illustrations past and boundless future through Audio-Animatronics, film, and music.

Captain EO - Starring, Michael Jackson, Join the King of Pop as he and his ragtag space crew bumble, sing, and dance their way through a cosmic crusade to save the day.

Ellen's Energy Adventure - Be entertained and enlightened on this zany 45-minute multimedia romp through time and Ellen DeGeneres's subconscious.

Impressions de France - An 18-minute film showcasing the grandeur, charm, and romance of one of Europe's most enchanting countries. And, there is a ton more that I'm not going to get into. There is just too much to list. But, yeah, there's a lengthy preview of what Epcot has to offer. And, let me finish it with Epcot's firework display over the lake with the revolving, moving, and opening globe.

It's pretty cool, but not as good as the Magic Kingdom fireworks display. So, Epcot is a great park to go to, and I highly recommend doing so.

Magic Kingdom - Disney World
Disney World. The magical place in Orlando, Florida that gives you that feeling that is so... just magical. There isn't many words that would do this place justice. There is no where else like it on Earth. That's why so many people love it. Lets be more precise when we say that we get the feeling at Disney World, because we can definitely narrow the exact place down even more than how we have stated it. Magic Kingdom inside of Walt Disney World supplies the majority of that happy, tingly feeling you get inside of your gut more than any other park in the giant "complex." Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios (formally known as MGM), and also the water parks, Blizzard Beach and Splash Lagoon don't make you feel the same as this same park that is known as Magic Kingdom. It says it right in the name: Magic Kingdom.

Well, now that I have rambled on about how magical and fantasy-like this one park is, let's move on to the features of the park that make it what it is today. As you might have scrolled by below, I have uploaded a few of my favorite rides at this park on YouTube. First, I would like to start with an attraction that was one of my favorites as a kid: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

This ride, located in Frontierland, demonstrates a mine train twisting and turning throughout this long and story-holding mountain. Many enjoy this classical roller coaster, especially the little ones. Jumping off topic for the time being, what I would like to mention is how great Disney World is for offering so many opportunities, and I stretch the word "so" when I say Disney World holds so many attractions, places, and sights that mostly fill the little kids with excitement and the fear of thinking they will have to leave the mystical paradise. The majority of amusement parks just offer you thrill rides for the adults and teens that fail to fit the needs of the children. Yes, most hold lame old kitty lands, but that's no fun compared to what Disney World is. Anyway, getting back to it, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is just an awesome ride that offers a trip back to the old wild west and offers twists and turns while strapped into an angry mine train. If I would have to rate this ride on a scale from one to ten, it would probably be an eight.
Now, let's move on to our second ride we will be observing: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

Located in Tomorrowland, this interactive shooting ride allows you to be in control of your own car as you battle with your opponent to hit the targets on the Toy Story related characters and scenes as your illuminated score (located next to your laser shooter) reads how successful you are doing. Usually, no one really cares about the score to the end. This ride is just so entertaining, and the best part is, you become part of the ride as you literally shoot at Zurg and other toys on your way to saving the day in Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin! Alright, now that we have covered that awesome ride I'd like to move on to one that is a lot different than, really, any ride in the whole Walt Disney World resort: the Haunted Mansion.

Ready to get some frights? Then you've definitely come to the right place. Haunted Mansion, from the original Disney movie starring Eddie Murphy, projects ghostly figures as you slowly creep through the halls of this dark realm in your doom buggie. This ride will make you think twice about ever walking into an old, human-abandoned mansion like this one. This is one of my all time favorites. I highly recommend not going on this one alone, and I'm speaking from experience. Now, let's move on to a ride located in Adventureland that involves a trouble maker named Jack. Yes folks, it's time for the Pirates of the Caribbean.

This ride has grown on me overtime, and you'll see why once you step aboard your boat and slowly float into a land filled with pirates. Well, obviously it's called "Pirates of the Caribbean." And my response would be yeah, but when I say filled I mean... filled with pirates. Well, you'll have to see for yourself. Just remember guys, if you want to check out the rides on video, just scroll down a little bit. Anyway, it's kind of hard to really and thoroughly explain all these rides because my words don't really give them justice. These rides are like no others, no stereotypical theme park has a Pirates of the Caribbean, or something like the Haunted Mansion. Nothing compares to these rides, and I know I keep stressing how good these rides really are, but take my word for it, I'm not being dramatic. Alright, well, I know I could say more about Pirates, but I think I'm going to step forward to a ride that will really knock your socks off: Space Mountain.

Space Mountain, located in Tomorrowland, is an indoor steel roller coaster that speeds you, first, through a light gazing tunnel, and then into a dark pathway into fun twists and turns, drops and screams. As you race through space, you'll feel like there is zero-gravity and plummeting through the skies in a rocket ship. Once this ride is over, you'll want to hop right back on so you can speed through the atmosphere once again. Wow, reading through that description of the ride it doesn't sound as awesome as it is. Well that's just what Disney rides make you look like. Now let me describe how great this final ride that I will be fully describing: Splash Mountain.

Located in Frontierland, this ride will soak you to a pulp. Is it a hot day down there in Florida? Cool off as you plummet 53 ft into a wonderland of water. This is definitely a ride you want to go on when it's one of those 90 degree days. I can't really explain much about it, but this is a calming ride as you float through scenery that demonstrates Br'er Bear trying to catch Br'er Rabbit over and over. Yet, the rabbit keeps escaping. You are focused on that when you are lifting in your boat up the river and then, down the hill that blasts you with a giant wave of cooling water. You should be prepared to get wet. Well, that is it for all the rides I will fully explain. Now, let me just get into some mild rides, some for the little, little ones.

Astro Orbiter - pilot your very own spaceship high in the sky above Tomorrowland amid a gleaming constellation of orbiting planets.

The Barnstormer - take flight above Storybook Circus for a thrilling, junior roller coaster ride.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant - Soar high in the sky on a whimsical flight over Storybook Circus aboard Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

"it's a small world" - embark on a whimsical boat ride past a jubilant confection of singing children from around the globe.

Jungle Cruise - Set sail for high adventure on a tour of the most exotic and "dangerous" rivers in Asia, Africa, and South America.

Mad Tea Party - spin 'round and 'round in a giant pastel teacup during a madcap music-filled adventure.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin - Fly high over Agrabah on a magic carpet around a giant genie lamp.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - Travel through Hundred Acre Wood in an oversized Hunny Pot and immerse yourself in the stories of Winnie the Pooh.

Peter Pan's Flight - Fly over London with Peter Pan aboard a magical pirate ship to Never Land.

Stitch's Great Escape! - Stitch is on the loose in this "theater-in-the-round" experience that's a treat for your eyes, ears, and nose.

Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid - Descend below the waves for a splashy musical adventure featuring famous scenes from this cherished animated classic.

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress - Travel through the 20th century to see how technology has improved our way of life during this classic Audio-Animatronics show.

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room - Tropical birds, Tiki gods and colorful flowers come to life in a swinging 10-minute South Seas musical celebration. Wow, looking at this, this is really long. Well, now let's make it even longer with getting into some of the awesome shows, and finishing with the fireworks over the castle which makes Disney World what it is.

Country Bear Jamboree - Have a knee-slappin' good time at this jolly country-and-western show starring a hilarious bunch of singing bears.

The Hall of Presidents - Behold all 43 U.S. Presidents on stage together in a patriotic celebration tracing the history of the United States.

Mickey's PhilharMagic - Get swept away in the magic of Disney animation in this 3D concert movie starring many favorite Disney characters.

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor - Giggle and guffaw to a gaggle of jokes during a live comedy show starring characters from Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University. Now, lets finish it off with the best thing of all at this magical park.

The Magic Kingdom Fireworks Display gives everyone a treat of color and definitely a substantial amount of magic to be imputed in yourself. As you can see from the picture above, this is what you need to see. Make sure you get a good spot to see it so that you can feel what this show is trying to supply. This is just so... words cannot describe how great it is. The first time I saw this when I was about four, and my mouth was literally open for about half of the show. I can promise you this is one of the best opportunities that you can get on a vacation. Magic Kingdom is undeniably amazing and magical. Once you walk in, you'll never want to leave this wonderland.
